Description

Product Characteristics: RUNX1 is a eukaryotic gene and the protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor associated with M2 AML, a type of leukemia. It belongs to the Runt-related transcription factor (RUNX) family of genes which are also called core binding factor-alpha (CBFalpha). RUNX proteins form a heterodimeric complex with CBFbeta which confers increased DNA binding and stability to the complex. Synonyms: Monoclonal RUNX1 antibody, Anti-RUNX1 antibody, Runt-related transcription factor 1 antibody, AML1 antibody, CBFA2 antibody, EVI-1 antibody, AMLCR1 antibody, PEBP2aB antibody, AML1-EVI-1 antibody.
Target Information: Core binding factor (CBF) is a heterodimeric transcription factor that binds to the core element of many enhancers and promoters. The protein encoded by this gene represents the alpha subunit of CBF and is thought to be involved in the development of normal hematopoiesis. Chromosomal translocations involving this gene are well-documented and have been associated with several types of leukemia. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
