Weakly expressed in the cortex and hippocampus. VACHT is also present in theolfactory bulb, nucleus of the lateralolfactory tract,olfactory tubercle. Target Information: This gene is a member of the vesicular amine transporter family. The encoded transmembrane protein transports acetylcholine into secretory vesicles for release into the extracellular space.
