Pronase should digest proteins into individual amino acids, it should not affect the sidechains.

I have a couple of questions regarding digestion of proteins with pronase.
1. I know pronase is nonspecific and cleaves all the peptide bonds in a protein, but then, does it digests only the peptide bond or it also affects the sidechains of proteins?
2.How long should I incubate and what temperature should I use for digesting proteins into individual aminoacids?
Can anyone please help me with this questions.
