SMi’s 2nd annual Biobanking event will reflect the significant change driving current development in bio sample management. With great impetus being put on data sharing, interoperability and harmonisation of biobanks, it will explain how single centre research facilities are evolving into research infrastructures.
This conference will address the barriers that are currently faced by the PK/PD community and also how recent discoveries have improved the understanding of the mechanisms involved in ADME-Tox. It will also address the new technologies and techniques being developed to overcome the classic physiological barriers to drug bioavailability.
Building on the tremendous success of SMi's first three Social Media in Pharamceuticals conference, we are proud to present our fourth event in the series; focused on keeping our audience up-to-date with developments in the ever-changing social media sphere.
This event promises to be a unique platform for networking and problem solving in the major challenges facing KOL Development. The event will focus on MSL best practice strategies in a variety of contexts and amongst other subjects will consider how best to utilize digital media in KOL management.
With the support from China Center for Pharmaceutical International Exchange, China National Center for Biotechnology Development and other authoritative associations like ABO, CROU, Bayhelix, KoreaBio, BioPharma China Convention 2012-Vaccine & Antibody Focus, organized by CDMC Events, will be staged in Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center,China, on June 20th-21st, 2012.
The course will provide pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and CRO researchers, directors and managers in understanding the requirements for a well designed and successful ADMET, PK/TK, and DM program that is conducted within a drug development logic plan and in compliance ICH guidelines.
The event will provide a complete picture of developments in the RNAi field, focusing on siRNA Development, Nano-enabled Nucleic Acid Delivery as well as technological, regulatory and intellectual property updates and will be the ideal opportunity for problem-solving discussion and idea-sharing debate.
This year's conference will discuss the major concerns, newest challenges and the best practices in the development of orphan drugs. The use of patient registries, open innovation in rare diseases, designation, the importance of communication between pharma, patients and HTA bodies, use of social media and many more will be covered by the au fait pharmaceutical representatives.
Today, cutting edge non-invasive multimodal imaging technologies and strategies are indispensable in pre-clinical small animal research. In this half day seminar we will explore the work of three independent research scientists from Baylor, Notre Dame and Thomas Jefferson Universities who specialize in small animal research using high resolution optical/X-ray, nuclear and/or CT systems.

ATS 2012, SAN FRANCISCO – Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who become infected with the bacterium Pseudomonas aerguinosa are more likely to have worse clinical outcomes and experience more hospitalizations during the course of their disease than COPD patients who are not infected, according to researchers from Buffalo, N.Y.
May 23, 2012, New York, NY—More than half of Americans with individual market health insurance coverage in 2010 were enrolled in so-called "tin" plans, which provide less coverage than the lowest "bronze"-level plans in the Affordable Care Act, and therefore would not be able to be offered in the health insurance exchanges that are being created under the law, according to a Commonwealth Fund–supported study published today as a Web First in the journal Health Affairs. The analysis suggests that once the state-based exchanges—set up to make it easier for individuals and small businesses to shop for health insurance—go into effect in 2014, many of these Americans will be able to purchase plans that offer better coverage. In addition, many will be eligible for premium subsidies that will help offset the cost of the plans.
